Welcome! My name is Kanat Isakov and I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am on the job market in this academic year, 2025-26.
My research interests lie in the intersection of Macroeconomics and Labor Economics. In my research, I use linked employee-employer data guided by theory to study wage adjustment and inequality dynamics. Part of my dissertation was written while being a PhD Visiting Fellow at the Central Bank of Colombia.
