I am a fifth-year PhD candidate in economics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Additionally, I am a part-time economic research analyst at the Joint Committee on Taxation.
My research interests public finance broadly, with a special focus on tax policy. Prior to joining JCT, I studied the effect of the Affordable Care Act Medicaid Expansion on migration decisions of low-income individuals. I also studied the effect of extended unemployment insurance on aggregate employment during the Great Recession and its recovery. At JCT, I work with tax data to study tax evasion and avoidance, taxpayer response to savings incentives, and the dynamics of earnings and losses for multinational enterprises.
