Biography
Judith K. Hellerstein, Professor, received her PhD from Harvard University in 1994 and joined the Maryland faculty in 1996. She is also a faculty associate of the Maryland Population Research Center and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. The focus of much of her research is labor market outcomes across gender, race, and ethnicity. Publications include: "Workplace Segregation in the United States: Race, Ethnicity, and Skill" Review of Economics and Statistics, 2008; "Spatial Mismatch or Racial Mismatch?" Journal of Urban Economics, 2008; "New Evidence on Sex Segregation and Sex Differences in Wages from Matched Employee-Employer Data," Journal of Labor Economics, 2003; "Market Forces and Sex Discrimination," Journal of Human Resources, 2002.
