Biography
Cindy Clement, Director of Undergraduate Studies in Economics, received her BA in Economics (cum laude) from Smith College and her MA and PhD in economics from University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to taking on the position of undergraduate studies director, she was a faculty research associate with the IRIS Center. In that capacity, she authored several assessments of legal and economic policy institutions in various developing countries, designed workshops for both domestic and foreign policymakers on a wide variety of economic and legal topics, contributed to development of new methodologies for measuring corruption, and managed a team of lawyers and economists. In her current position, Dr. Clement teaches three courses and carries out a variety of tasks to strengthen and improve the undergraduate program.
