Director of Administrative Services

The Director of Administrative Services will plan, manage, direct and coordinate the administrative services of the Department of Economics. The DAS will supervise, review and mentor department administrative staff. The DAS will manage human resource needs for the department. The person in this position will have oversight of all departmental budgets including state, research and foundation funds.

The DAS will: Prepare the annual budget; prepare budget revisions and monitor the budget; and monitor revenues/expenses to ensure sound fiscal control. The DAS will prepare budget projections and undertake financial planning for all aspects of the department budget. He or she will manage and approve all procurement and travel for the department. The DAS will manage departmental facilities and work with the Department Chair to plan, implement and manage facilities projects. The DAS will report directly to the Department Chair.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree required and a Master's Degree is preferred.

Experience: Five or more years' experience working in an office environment specific to administrative and/or financial management (i.e., accounting, payroll, and procurement) required. Knowledge of University policies and procedures and experience with grants management preferred.
