ECON 470: Theory of Labor Economics

Why do some workers earn different wages than others? We will answer this question in the contexts of family theory, compensating differentials, human capital, performance incentives and discrimination. While this course is focused primarily on theory, evidence will also be presented. Our evidence comes from the careful statistical, or econometric, analysis of large data sets. Basic econometric concepts will be presented.
