ECON 416: Theory of Economic Development
The most important concern of development economics is the amelioration of poverty in the context of the overall community environment. This course explores the issues, opportunities, and problems of economic development across the global economy. It has three primary objectives. Students are to become acquainted with a wide variety of issues pertaining to the economic development. Second, we will learn to understand and apply basic theoretical and empirical tools that economists use to study the development process. Finally, we will discuss and assess the history and application of the policies used to foster development.
